Wood Shop Safety & Intro to Woodworking

Before gaining autonomous access to the Inspired Lumber Workshop wood shop, all members are required to complete one of two foundational classes. Both options ensure you understand safe practices, have hands-on tool experience, and can demonstrate proficiency with the equipment to satisfy insurance requirements and keep our shop safe for everyone.

Wood Shop Safety – $50

Designed for individuals who are already comfortable with power tools, this class focuses on reinforcing proper safety procedures, best practices, and tool handling. It’s an efficient option if you simply need a refresher and proficiency check before working independently in the shop.

Intro to Woodworking – $85

For those who want a little more experience before diving in, this option combines the essential safety training with a first instructor-led project: building your own wooden toolbox. Along the way, you’ll practice multiple tools and techniques while gaining both confidence and a completed project to take home.
