Build a Bat House: A Bat Week Workshop

Celebrate Bat Week with Inspired Lumber Workshop and the Lucas County Soil & Water Conservation District during this hands-on workshop dedicated to one of our most misunderstood, and most helpful, neighbors.

Bats provide tremendous natural insect control, with a single bat capable of eating thousands of insects in a night. They also face growing challenges, including habitat and roost-site loss and White-Nose Syndrome. Providing appropriate roosting habitat is one simple way we can help.

This is a hands-on workshop that takes place in the Wood Shop. Participants will use a variety of power tools to build a functional bat house to take home, while learning more about local bats, their importance to healthy ecosystems and the proper placement of a bat house for the greatest chance of success.

$75 per participant. All materials included. Only 8 spaces available.

No experience is needed. We'll teach you all you need to know. Trust us! That's what we do.

And because this workshop happens during International Bat Week, an annual celebration created specifically to raise awareness of bats and their importance in nature, the timing is just about perfect.
