What to Expect
In this class, award winning artist Shannon Eis offers a basic introduction on how to use 2 part epoxy resin and how to make a 10x10 "Resin Geode wall piece". Students will have a finished Resin Geode Piece on a 10x10 wood panel by end of class. Piece must be left overnight to cure. Students will have lots of amazing choices to tint/color their resin pieces. They will learn about using  mica powder pigments, alcohol inks and other things in resin. They will also have a wide selection of crushed glass, stones, mica flakes, glitters of all sizes and colors, etc to make a Unique, one of a kind Geode piece that they must leave overnight to dry, and can pickup the next day. The Resin Geode Painting class is $75 per person, all supplies are provided for you.  Feel free to bring anything youd like to add to your resin piece! The epoxy resin that we are using is called Art Resin. It is non toxic and is safe to use in an open area without masks. If you are sensitive to smells, feel free to bring your own mask as well.
About the ArtistÂ
Toledo born, Award Winning Artist, Shannon Eis, is best known for her work in found object sculpture that she calls JUNKEEZ and her work in Epoxy Resin. In her resin pieces you will often find a large array of different stones ranging from quartz crystals and obsidan to natural rubies and emeralds. She also includes glass, glitters, shells, bones and found objects.
While Shannon is constantly creating with different mediums, she also teaches Resin art, acrylics, jewelry making, Polymer clay dollmaking and alcohol ink landscapes in many different venues. Â This multi-talent artist also co-owns Wonderland Studio and Gallery in downtown Toledo, Ohio. Â With numerous national and local awards under her belt, her ultimate goal is to have an encased hot dog bun on the wall of Tony Packo's restaurant. Shannon has created many custom works including a custom Jeep Wrangler Grille for the Toledo Mayors office. She also has her work on public display for 3-5 years at the corner of 11th and Jefferson in Toledo via a vinyl wrap awarded by The Arts Commission.
