Safety Class/Intro to Woodworking

The wood shop contains tools that can be dangerous if not used properly. To ensure safety and comply with our insurance requirements, all members must pass a mandatory Safety Class or Introduction to Woodworking class before gaining autonomous access to the wood shop. These classes provide an overview of all our tools and equipment and require you to demonstrate proficiency in their use. Your safety is our top priority!

We offer two different class options:

1. Safety Class

   Designed for individuals with previous experience and understanding of wood shop tools. This class covers essential safety protocols and ensures you can demonstrate proficiency in tool usage. (1-2 hours)

2. Introduction to Woodworking Class

   Perfect for those new to the craft, this class covers the same curriculum as the Safety Class but also includes the completion of an instructor led project, a wood toolbox, allowing you to practice and apply your newly acquired skills. (2-3 hours)

Please note: Neither the Safety Class nor the Introduction to Woodworking class is required before attending any of our other classes. All pertinent safety requirements will be covered during individual sessions.
