About the event

Christian's Corner Foundation, Lucas County Veterans Services Commission, and Inspired Lumber Workshop are pleased to announce an innovative partnership aimed at supporting veterans through a FREE 6-week, project-based learning experience. This collaborative initiative reflects a shared commitment to empower veterans with new skills and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

The free 6-week program, aptly named Salute to Carpentry, will offer veterans the chance to engage in a hands-on, meaningful program that will not only enhance their skill sets but also foster a sense of camaraderie and purpose. Participants will have the opportunity to learn woodworking techniques from experts at Inspired Lumber Workshop, allowing them to craft a custom project while gaining valuable knowledge and vocational skills.

Veterans wishing to participate in the Salute to Carpentry program must be honorably discharged from the military or be qualified to receive services from Lucas County Veterans Services Commission. Those interested should contact Lucas County Veterans Services Commission to determine eligibility by calling 419.213.6090 or visit the office at 2595 Arlington Ave., Suite 201 between 8:30am-3:30pm. In addition, please email InspiredLumber@gmail.com to let us know of your interest and your preference for morning or evening sessions. Every effort will be made to accommodate your first preference, however, space is limited to sixty (60) veterans in our first year, 12 per session, 6 in the AM & 6 in the PM. Applications will be taken on a first come, first served basis and be placed into the program in chronological order, unless specifically requested to be placed into a later session.

For those wanting to continue their woodworking journey after the Salute to Carpentry session is complete, Christian’s Corner Foundation will provide memberships to Inspired Lumber Workshop as a way to continue to foster further development, growth and community.
