What to Expect

Unlock the art of screenprinting in our hands-on Screenprinting 101 class! You’ll dive into the essentials of at-home screenprinting, which blends traditional screen printing with vinyl stenciling. Learn how to prepare your screen and graphic, apply designs, and work with different types of ink. You'll practice on scrap materials, then create your own custom tote bag to take home, showcasing your new skills. Choose from a variety of pre-designed images, or submit your own in advance for a personalized touch (see below for specifics). Plus, you'll leave with your own reusable screen, ready for your next creative project at home!

What type of image can I send in?

We’ll provide a variety of pre-designed quotes, phrases, and images for you to use, but you’re also welcome to submit your own image. We recommend using Canva or a similar online editing program to prepare your design.

This class focuses on screenprinting with an at-home kit, not traditional screenprinting machines, so it's important to choose your images carefully. Avoid gradients or photos, and steer clear of designs with many small, colorful details. Instead, opt for solid colors and bold designs for the best results.

Please email high-resolution images (about 300 pixels per inch) at the size you want to print to inspiredlumber@gmail.com at least two days before the class to allow time for processing. Be aware that fine details and small text may not reproduce clearly with this method, so choose your designs accordingly.

If you have any questions, feel free to call the Workshop at 419.754.1408.
